We run free online workshops and bespoke in-person sessions to help you understand copyright.

  • What to do if you face copyright infringement

Bespoke workshops

We provide customised workshops for your organisation. Sessions run 60 to 120 minutes and can be held in person or online. For creative practitioners, sessions focus on copyright and best practice. For licence holders, we cover using, creating, and managing resources responsibly. Topics include AI, contracts, data collection, and record-keeping, tailored to the needs of each audience.

Tāwhia Copyright Aotearoa licence holders can access these workshops for free. A fee applies for non-licence holders.

Meet Karen Workman

Since joining Tāwhia Copyright Aotearoa in 2021, Karen has delivered more than 200 Creative Rights workshops across Aotearoa, helping thousands of people understand how copyright works in practice. Her experience spans the creative industries in New Zealand and the United States, including developing film curricula and business training for young actors in Los Angeles. As a musician, author, and creative practitioner with a background in business and education, she connects equally with creators, educators, and organisations, making complex copyright concepts practical and accessible. Driven by a passion for empowering creatives, Karen brings clarity, energy, and insight to every session.
